Cheap gas... come and get it

In 2003 we suffered through SARS. In May 2003, the city convinced all the Toronto gas stations to lower their prices to 49.9 cents per liter. The idea was to promote Toronto and bring the GTA back to the core. Did it work? I guess so. Either way, it was cheap gas, and everyone filled up.
